WhatsApp is rumoured to be working on a new last seen feature, disappearing chats, and a redesigned group details page.

WhatsApp is currently working on a number of new features that will be launched soon. According to rumours, the company wants to include a new last seen option, disappearing conversations, and a redesigned group information page. WhatsApp may eventually allow you to exchange high-resolution videos and images. To discover more, keep reading.

Five New Features are Anticipated to be Added to WhatsApp Soon

1. New option for Last Seen:

In the near future, WhatsApp plans to include the ability to hide a contact’s last seen. This feature was found by WaBetaInfo and is expected to be included in the stable version soon. According to the referenced source, the new option will be available to iOS and Android users.

The messaging service is expected to have a “My contacts except” option in the privacy settings, allowing users to enable last seen for certain friends. This feature would come in useful if you don’t want to display specific people when you were last online on WhatsApp. It’s worth mentioning that if you don’t share your last seen, you won’t be able to view other people’s last seen.

2. Disappearing Chats:

In the near future, we may also see a new disappearing chats feature. According to WaBetaInfo, this option would be available for both one-on-one and group WhatsApp conversations. This is in addition to the disappearing messages feature that currently exists.

According to the proposed disappearing chats feature, “new chat threads will automatically convert to ephemeral chat.” This may be found under the Privacy tab. Once you activate it, all conversations in each new chat or group are meant to vanish in a short period of time.

The disappearing chats feature must be disabled if one does not want all of their communications to be lost.

3. Group Icon Editor, Redesigned Group Info Page:

A new group icon editor function was spotted in Android beta version, hinting that the Facebook-owned firm is working on it. When users don’t have a picture for a group, the new functionality will allow them to easily generate one. You’ll also have the option of changing the icon’s background colour. Emojis and stickers may be added to WhatsApp as well.

In addition to the group icon editor, the messaging service is redesigning the group information page, which may have prominent chat and call icons. According to WaBetaInfo, this change was discovered in WhatsApp for iOS beta version The new design appears to have larger chat, audio, and video call buttons. It’s possible that the admin will be able to share the invite URL as well. Both of these features may be available soon.

4. High-Resolution Videos & Photos:

WhatsApp encodes movies and pictures substantially to allow users to transmit them to their friends fast. However, not everyone is pleased with sending low-quality media. WaBetaInfo reports that the firm plans to add a new feature to the app that would allow users to choose the quality of video and photo uploads. When publishing video clips, users will soon be able to choose between “Best Quality,” “Data Saver,” and “Auto” modes, according to the report.

5. Images Into Stickers:

The messaging app will, according to WaBetaInfo, contain a new function that will allow users to transform their photographs into stickers. When users upload a new image to the app, they will notice a new sticker icon next to the caption bar once the feature is rolled out to them. When you choose that sign, WhatsApp will send the image as a sticker instead of a regular photo. According to the specified source, users will be able to determine whether the image you provided is a sticker or not. This feature is still in testing and can be found in version 2.2137.3 of the desktop beta.
